Session Description:
The legal profession is experiencing rapid change. The evolution of technology, client demands, and world events all influence our stress and our ability to regulate bias. Resilience is now a professional necessity, a skill that can be grown. We will explore practical strategies to build resilience, counter bias, and sustain professional effectiveness during periods of uncertainty.

Learning Objectives:

    •       Define resilience in the context of legal professionalism and its role in sustaining competent practice

   •      Identify common stressors and challenges in uncertain environments that can affect judgment, productivity, and client service.

   •      Apply evidence-based techniques to maintain well-being, manage workload, and support ethical decision-making under pressure.

   •      Develop strategies to strengthen resilience individually and within legal teams for the benefit of the firm, the community, and the world.

Judy Hissong is the President of Nesso Strategies. A former law firm Chief Operating Officer, she helps firms become more profitable by advising leaders in strategic and leadership development challenges.  Her mission is “world domination for Good.”  By creating actionable, lightbulb moments that leaders want to share and spread, she intends to improve the world one person at a time.  When she’s not speaking, training and consulting, Judy teaches quarterly online workshops and facilitates Leaders Lab, a monthly video conference that enables small groups of leaders to brainstorm strategies and solutions to work through common issues that keep firms stuck.
