Chadwick will review patenting opportunities and obstacles presented by the massive research effort to develop a vaccine against deadly viruses such as MERS, SARS and COVID-19.

Warren D. Woessner has more than 35 years of experience in life sciences patenting, including obtaining patents on anti-HIV drugs and Lyme disease vaccines. He holds a Ph.D. and J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Before entering law school, Janet Embretson received her Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison where she trained under Dr. Howard Temin, concentrating her studies on the retrovirus life cycle. Her postdoctoral studies related to SIV and HIV. Robin Chadwick received her Ph.D.  in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale and did postdoctoral work at M.I.T.
